Description

Arranging Dahlias in the Garden by Jo Aylward. Oil on panel, signed, 10ins x 8ins. Jo have been drawing and painting from a young age, with the natural world always being her biggest theme. Living in the countryside, gardening, and keeping animals have become increasingly important to Jo and provide the central inspiration for her work. Her paintings are predominantly about small events and fleeting moments--such as a brief glimpse from a window, or the changing quality of light that brings something alive - that colour the everyday. Although Jo keeps sketchbooks, many of these moments appear in my paintings from memory, creating a repetition of the familiar.  You can see more of Jo's work here
