A French painter who worked in oils, watercolours, prints and most importantly Tapestry. This is a one off coloured silk screen on canvas on a stretcher. Bezombes 's tapestries could also be woven.
Bezombes visited Morocco in 1936 where he painted most of the subject matter for his first exhibition in Paris at the Charpentier Gallery.This exhibition won him an award , Grand Prix national des Arts and a a travel grant , which took him on a long journey through North Africa.
Bezombes became a professor at the Academy Julian in 1950 and at that time took up Tapestry. He had a long successful career and received many awards in France.
