watercolour , signed and dated 1821, 11.5ins x 9ins , (29.5cm x 23cm) James Johnson died aged 31 , during his short career he worked in watercolours and oils. He helped set up the first Bristol exhibition. His architectural watercolours are considered some of the best works of the Bristol school. This is a delightful watercolour of the Lady Chapel in Glastonbury.
